Re: MiSTer PCXT
Hi, I can see you guys are working on a higher level, but, I’m trying to get the core working but I’m struggling with the boot.rom. I’m trying to follow this thread but it’s a fair few IQ points beyond me…. It seems like once upon a time the boot.rom I need to get this running was in the SW folder on github but it doesn’t appear to be there now. A...

Workaround I use for shared folder: Boot the NT in MS-DOS mode, run misterfs there, copy the files then reboot in NT mode afterwards.

PC-OS2W400.vhd - OS/2 Warp 4.0. I hope this is possible :) It is, see also these findings on OS/2 thread (https://misterfpga.org/viewtopic.php?p=46068#p46068). I couldn't make SLIP/PPP to work no matter what, always throwing SYS3175 error. Modem connection works (tried Pmcomm and also Terminate 5.0) to connect to BBSes and such (https://www.youtub...

Re: Windows NT 4 - WORKING on ao486!
To my surprise, Panzer General 2 works better on NT Workstation 4.0 than on Windows 95/98  It will not be on full speed on some animations (we're still on our ao486 after all), but the sound is ok, does not get looped/garbled like on W98. Moving troops, attacking etc plays authentic enough, and overall, it makes an enjoyable experience. Savi...

Thank you for the new "toy" ! :D Tried SymbOS for a bit, works quite nice, no major issues (unless i opened quite too many windows lol) Short usage: mount the 256 megs VHD, then C+F9 After reset, type ":LOAD SYM" and hit Enter. Cursor is driven by controller, but you get used to it, same as on MSX core :) Small capture here : ht...

So far I have been unable to boot anything, I always get "No valid state has been set by load or init-program". Before I give it a rest and finish my new MISTer setup I have a few question? Re: OS/2 - Any known compatible versions?
Small how-to (the way it worked for me) 1. First create the VHD file directly on MiSTer (either by F9 or SSHed on it) cd /media/fat/games/ao486/ dd if=/dev/zero of=<nameofvhd>.vhd status=progress bs=1M count=400 I made 400 Megs ones, no reason for me to make them larger, as they are for testing 2. Set L1 cache to OFF (rest of the settings should be...

Thanks to @friendly.joe, I've found out that OS/2 is somewhat running, so did some tests: OS/2 ver. 2.0 works fine with mouse support, been able also to connect to a BBS with Softerm terminal client and UART in Modem mode. Installation works fine afaik. Starting version 2.1, mouse is no longer detected and L1 cache should be turned OFF in order to ...

As Caldor also suggested, better use a file manager for ms-dos :Dos Navigator, Norton Commander etc. I use Dos Navigator to simplify file access Just get either one, and copy them in some of the folders from IDE 0-1 Top 300 Dos Games (I have mine in E:\Utils). If neither of these file managers are ok to you, just use dosshell. It is as well present...

Re: Lets actually try Hybrid Emulation
I think the README files cover that:
"THE EASY WAY
Extract minimig_module_5.14_prebuilt.tar.gz into /media/fat
After each boot run: (yes best to add this to boot scripts...)
cd ./minimig_module
./setup"
I didn't try it yet, will do after I finish to polish my VHDs with 3.2 AmigaOS, most likely this weekend

Re: C64 Core - Device not present error
When it happened to me a week or so ago, the solution was to delete the old C64.cfg file.
After that, all came back to normal (using standard C64 kernel). Maybe it helps.

I suggest to use the 5V 4A Meanwell power supply, you can get it from Ricardo (ultimatemister.com) or Nat (misterfpga.co.uk).
Think I got mine from Nat, no problem whatsoever using it for powering my MiSTer and MT32-Pi

Re: MiSTer device will no longer allow me to FTP
I'm not familiar much with wifi adapters, rarely using wireless connections. But yes, Orange/amber light usually reports an issue. Maybe try to set it to use only 2.4 Ghz or 5Ghz and see if you get any more disconnections ? Another idea is to check if you have (and can) update adapter's firmware ? Might be a solution, might be not, some cases I saw...

Re: MiSTer device will no longer allow me to FTP
Out of curiosity, have you tried using an ethernet cable instead of Wifi dongle ?
I have my MiSTer connected with cable, static IP reservation on router and no issues at all while connecting to it from my Windows PC.
As for SSH/SFTP client, I use SecureCRT/SecureFX bundle, no issues encountered.
