All those N64 games are gonna look so good with true hdmi 1440p native scaling and shadow masks. I just can't wait!

NDS is a no go in full FPGA. I think I remember FPGAzumSpass tried but the speed for 3d was super slow or am I remembering wrong? Maybe an Hybrid core build with the help of ChatGPT? Why are you all laughing I can see you there!

Re: Sega Saturn Core in Development
There is no requirement on any Dev to support non standard 4 Chip Memory. It should never have been made. Why should a dev spend time supporting a non official memory expansion. True, but it is still supported by the Mister and all finish cores are compatible with both configurations. Since it's an open source project, you always have devs happy t...

Re: Sega Saturn Core in Development
Once the core is close to the finish line, there is absolutely no reason for not having th core work on the 4 modules model. It just makes no sense to focus on that for now though, but it's definitely possible. I grabbed a 2 modules a few weeks back and it works, it was mainly to test some dual sdram setup, but again I expect the official release o...

Same here! I only use bob, because it looks "truer" with filters, but alternating scanlines would be MUCH better imo.
The 480p hack is really convenient in some games where it works well.

just FYI: A user opened a issue on Github (https://github.com/bbond007/MiSTer_ScummVM/issues/28) concerning Longest Journey & Zork Nemesis regression on the compiles I did with the new toolchain. Anyway, support for a few engines were excluded because freetype2 was failing to be detected by the configure script. While I think the ResidualVM en...

Re: ROMweasel 0.9.9
I'd be happy with a "select all" as well. It might come in handy. This feature is currently absent on purpose. I'm considering adding a separate code path for downloading full libraries, but only if the total library size is reasonable; I don't want to encourage wasting archive.org's bandwidth. They're struggling as it is, and their work...

Re: ROMweasel 0.9.9
So far it gives me 0B size for the TGFX16 CD and PSX games I selected and then it doesn't download anything. Did you actually select anything before trying to download? You need to select items with spacebar. If that is the issue, it's an oversight on my behalf - I realised too late the script cannot be used at all without a keyboard. I intend to ...

So it works absolutely great, I think it does an amazing job at creating additional sd cards and It's easier than mr fusion and faster, because everything is setup from the og card directly from the Mister with all my custom settings and content already! It's gonna be my new go to on that front. However since the usb 2 is very slow, we should have ...

That is actually awesome! I wanted to move from an almost full 256gb to a 512gb sd card, but I was too lazy to go through the entire process of transfering all the files and games and formating the new card, so this is great! Perfect timing too! XD Thank you!

Re: Running MiSTer on 12 Volts?
Had the same experience with my OSSC a couple of years back which is also 5v. I used my tp link cable instead of the OSSC one... Managed to salvage it somehow by soldering one wire after the safety fuse and the other one to ground. I used a usb cable for that and the good thing about it now, is that it work with a battey bank and on the go. The bad...

Re: Release DE10 Nano Overclock Kernel BETA
I think it's important to temper expectations here. a) Cores will NEVER _depend_ on overclocking...if they don't function properly without it, meh. b) It's a nice little speed bump...but that's what it is. It makes the UI a bit snappier and takes Munt from sort-of-working to more-or-less-serviceable. OC the ARM core is _not_ what I would call a 'g...

Yep, you can even have a go at more interesting hybrid core in the future for Ao486 and other things... ^^
Munt is really awesome at 1.2ghz, but I'm sure the OC kernel is gonna bring many more cool stuff.

Re: 24-bit Rendering Bugs
VGA 24bits should never be used with hdmi output.
Like it was said earlier, 24bits could interfere in some rare cases, when it's the case just turn it off ^^
also always have the 2d detect (it shound't be off ever really) if you use texture filtering

Re: Release DE10 Nano Overclock Kernel BETA
Currently it gets unstable before it gets hot. So if you push to 1.4ghz you just get instability, but not in a way where you would TJ max the chip or burn it. This will not happen in a official kernel anyway. Maybe someone will do what Coolbho3k while pushing voltage up and clocking it at 1.6 or even 2 ghz but this will never end up into main sinc...

Re: Release DE10 Nano Overclock Kernel BETA
Not to go off topic, but if it's just close enough at 1.2 GHz, has anyone tried just running `renice` on the munt process to make it a higher priority when running it on-board? After the overclock the process priority might just make a difference. I haven't tried no, how would that work? Is the Kernel in main already updated btw? Not yet, the kern...

And yet people will raise issues becasue its not perfect. Pretty much certain it will be reported as MT32 doesnt work and then subsequently will it be found to be on an overclocked arm and not a MT32Pi It appears I'm alone in disliking this change but I see 0 compelling reasons for it to be present as anything but a user replaceable kernal image. ...

@FPGA64 Then don't. It's off by default, you'll never notice it. The rest of us QUITE appreciate it. (And if you ever DO decide to try it, you'll find that it peps up the UI *quite* noticably, but if you don't, we get it...you don't need to continue to share the doom and gloom with the dozens that use it as a daily driver, thanks.) Re: PlayStation Based Arcade Hardware
I'm not a fan of using hacks for a hardware preservation project. Using hacks is a shortcut and one that I don't think sets a good precedent. Someone will eventually work on PSX-based boards one day and probably ST-V one day. Can we please just be a little more patient as opposed to a half-baked solution of using hacks? We have thousands of games ...

Re: Why Doesn’t the Lion King Run Well on the AO486 Core?
I think the best approach for the ao486 to get better is to offload some of it on the arm. That's a case where hybrid makes sense, even if it seems to trigger the purist.
But there's still a lot of problem with the minimig hybrid that seem very hard to resolve, especially if the kernel overclock never gets approved.
