No idea. On other systems, prg files are binary files that are injected directly into memory. Could you send me one so I can see what it is?
Srub that. Took a closer look and they are not PRG's at all but text files with .prg extension

Maybe it peeks or pokes some hardware register that isn't supported in the core ...

Re: Compukit UK101 core

Hi, To run OSI Invaders, go into C2P mode, then do a cold reset and start Basic, then do another reset, press "M" for the monitor, and load it. This works on the new version of the core, the old version, WinOSI, and, I believe, the original hardware. D. Thanks. Seeing the instructions everywhere now  Also, there appears to have bee...

Re: Compukit UK101 core

Hi Thanks for the update. C1P (Superboard II as you mentioned) is working fine, no problems so far. I can't, however, get anything to load and run in C2P mode. Some programs work okay on WinOSI emulator with CEGMON and all appear to work with SYN600 but I don't seem to be able to get machine code or basic programs to load at all for some reason. Wh...

danielb wrote: Wed Nov 17, 2021 4:39 pm Just a little update: I'm working on a new mode, for the OSI C1P.

I have had some moderate success, but it will be a while before it is ready for testing.

PS. I will also take a look at saving over UART :)
Sounds interesting

Re: Compukit UK101 core

Some enhancements only work with Cegmon. I recently found this repository: https://github.com/sjgray/OSI-monitor-roms , where someone has been reconstructing the source code for the various OSI ROMS. Hopefully, I will be able to find how to patch these ROMs in the same way that I patched Cegmon, so more enhancements will work with them. I had come...

Re: Compukit UK101 core

Hi, I managed to get 24x24 mode working. In the version that I have at the moment, it replaces the 32x32 mode on the OSI machine, and basically only works with Cegmon, because Cegmon is the only monitor that I know how to patch to change the default screen settings. So, is there any point to adding it to the official version? Every game is written...

Further in the link you provided: Although the video RAM could store 1024 characters and the actual video RAM was mapped as 32 lines of 32 characters, the actual display was 24 characters across by 24 lines – peripheral characters were not visible and used as a ‘guard band’ to prevent off-screen characters. I was with you all the way up to "a...

Re: Compukit UK101 core

Fun fact: it seems that if you tell the system at startup that it has memory of a certain size, it will believe you and not bother counting it. Therefore you can tell a 4K system that it has 8K, and all will be well until it actually tries to access memory that it doesn't have. "PRINT FRE(0)" will give wrong results based on the amount o...
