Love that Astro City!! Is there a way to get these great wallpapers to also show up on my CRT instead of the snowy background? I usually boot in dual screen and would love some graphics on the CRT like I have on the flat screen thru HDMI..

Re: Wishlist of Cores You Would Like to See in the Future
I've heard the discussion of the challenges with Laserdisc games being analog, where 'rips' are not possible like CD/DVD .ISO files. Thus, the Pioneer Laseractive, RDI Halcyon, and Arcade games like Dragon's Lair would be a challenge, but never say never [we have the Konix prototype now]. On that line of thought are CED-disc based games. Until then...

Options/Pre-made .ini files to correct core menus from no-display?
An issue I hadn't had before inspired this post. As we tweak settings, update, and make constant changes, this is expected. A new Sd card Update_all setup and I thought I was good. I have a 1080p LED LCD and CRT TV dual screen setup. I know the difference between a screen going crazy from a scan-doubler effect enabled vs a NTSC/PAL incompatibility,...

cifs_mount.sh Script Nearly Set Up
Recently, I had a "EUREKA!" moment over something simple and silly stemming from not wanting to get my sd stuck in my acrylic case again, nor wear out the Nano's SD springy- I made a new 32gb sd card and fresh install, and put my old 512gb (with all my games) into a USB card reader and wondered why I never thought of this earlier! That's ...

Re: NTSC 1084 Monitor
Ultimatemister already has this covered?! Awesome! Does anyone have this product? How is it? I'm confused by the seemingly conflicting description and Specification. The description mentions SCART yet the Specification does not in Connectors' A,B, C. I don't see how scart between the two is even needed? It would be nice if the website had product p...

Re: 1084 Monitor With Background Noise When Changing Cores
I'm also wondering if you can try a simple replacement speaker(s) and do a quick desolder/resolder to test? It is true that the flyback may be noisy. I have many CRTs and what younger folk call "The CRT sound" of which my whole life was just "tv" can vary from set to set. Geez, by calling a tv a 'set' I just just felt old like m...

+1000 support to Bbond007's work on Scummvm on Mister! I recently put together a brand new Linux OS based gaming PC where I also installed ScummVM. I always have to spend time futzing around to avoid many audio issues including 'sudo kill pulseaudio' command line prompts. I have no such issues thus far on the MiSTer version. I'd love support for th...

Re: DE10-Nano Died After Accidently Unplugging SD Card
Just a quick update: I got the Meanwell PSU and it fits like a dream like it should. 4 amps of power to handle more inputs like an external HDD, and all is working again like a champ! I use the power button on the Blisster board to power the MiSTer on/off with zero/no power button in the cable connection between the Blisster and the wall outlet. Ha...

Re: 1084 Monitor With Background Noise When Changing Cores
I may be able to help you with this. I have several Commodore monitors. I have yet to hook them up to a Mister though. How are you connecting yours? Are you using a luma / chroma to S-video adapter, and then some HDMI to S-video adapter or a newfangled adapter from the IO board to S-Video? I'd love someone to make a commercial adapter for direct Mi...

Re: Arcade Cabinet builds and MisterCades: DIY, custom made orders, conversions, etc.
After looking at Arcade1up risers, I had a wacky idea and wondered if others ever built this - I thought the risers could be made more efficient by visualizing a stand up arcade cabinet that separates in half. The top could be moved elsewhere as a bartop while the bottom revealed itself as a cocktail table! I don't know if the scale would require a...

Re: Arcade Cabinet builds and MisterCades: DIY, custom made orders, conversions, etc.
fierman, also great links, thanks! I went through both and I've narrowed down some options. 8 button layout is not for me- that is seemingly for much newer SF and MK games that probably won't see the light of day on MiSTer. I like the angled 6 button Japanese style with maybe an extra button on the left to make it both SFII and Neo Geo ready. Given...

Re: Arcade Cabinet builds and MisterCades: DIY, custom made orders, conversions, etc.
Hetzen, I really like your concept idea of swap-able control arcade panels. The obstacle to overcome in such a scenario I foresee is the button wiring . Not saying it can't be overcome- I think the idea is sound in theory. How cool would an arcade cabinet be where one could fairly easily hot swap panels based on the game they are playing? A simple ...

Re: Sega Saturn Core as Useful Information to Repair Real Saturn Consoles?
Thanks- now that I solved my MiSTer hardware issue, I'm back at the Saturn. Hope I find something for the benefit of many. I wonder now if it is an audio chip issue, be it the Motorola or the Sega/Yamaha one. Anyone know where to source replacement chips that don't cost more than a replacement Saturn to make it worth it? This where I hope those way...

Arcade Cabinet builds and MisterCades: DIY, custom made orders, conversions, etc.
I'd love for this to be a hub for Arcade cabinet builds with MiSTer in mind. Primarily focused on cabinets themselves; layouts and styles, etc. Of course, configuring, 'how to also include a Rasperberry Pi in tandem' software and connector discussions might happen. For me, I mean the woodwork, lighting, marquees and ESPECIALLY controller layouts. I...

Re: DE10-Nano Died After Accidently Unplugging SD Card
Well, if mine crapped out on me, hopefully I can at the very least save others's MiSTer from suffering the same fate. I have both a CRT and a flat screen hooked up to it. It was sitting next to the CRT, but fully enclosed in a nice acrylic case and rubber feet. Could powering the TV on and off shoot static to the side of it? I have other consoles o...

Re: DE10-Nano Died After Accidently Unplugging SD Card
Since April 10th, was smooth sailing but just had this problem happen again. In my case, I left the power button on the cable in the 'on' position so I could power the Mister on via the Blisster's power button. I suspect at some point this routine created some power issue that made it crap out again. I saved my notes so redoing the flash went ok. T...

Re: New 2022 PS1/2/3 Controllers by Retro Fighters and 8bitdo
My retrobit 2.4 wireless Saturn controller now is showing connection issues on a real Saturn. I'm only about 7 feet away. This controller has been getting less and less reliable- maybe I just got a mediocre one from a quality control standpoint. Interesting about that "C" button- I've had that issue too as well as had to replace the micro...

Re: Sega Saturn Core as Useful Information to Repair Real Saturn Consoles?
I remember hearing about bad Pico PSUs, but I think I deliberately sought out a good one: ReSaturnPSU. A logical guess is temp related / dry or cracked break in the chain. If I turn off the system for a few moments after being fully warmed up, the time and date screen returns but the sound is fine. Having reflowed the AV connector pins, I am able t...

Re: Sega Saturn Core as Useful Information to Repair Real Saturn Consoles?
Yes, it had sound issues before recapping it with a Console5 kit (of which I have used for several consoles and monitors). Seems like if I turn the Saturn off, later the same day it needs to 'warm up' for 15-25 minutes again. I don't think it is MODE related but won't rule out any troubleshooting suggestions. It's not remembering date/time again so...

MAS Classic (American Style Real Arcade Joystick)
Saw the video at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qEWFVAHd1Jk I have followed this story for a while. I love the aspects of carrying on the torch and legacy of the family, and that some proceeds go TO the family, especially after reviewing their backstory that led to where this product is today. I think the look and style of the new MAS joystick is...

Sega Saturn Core as Useful Information to Repair Real Saturn Consoles?
Hoping Sega Sature Core devs' documentation can help sort a common issue on real Sega Saturn hardware - the LOW AUDIO issue: As reported on Sega-16, SegaXtreme and on Reddit, there is an issue multiply reported that my own Saturn shares. Low audio, or audio that needs to WARM UP. On my USA Saturn model 2, the problem was there when I bought it. I'v...

New 2022 PS1/2/3 Controllers by Retro Fighters and 8bitdo
I missed the PS1 in its time and have no nostalgia personally for the system. I played some Autobleem titles on the hacked PS classic and am happy to discover the library.
