Re: Neo Geo CD Core

Unibios setting for CDZ pressing select works great for me; only problem I get no sound during boot animation, dunno if it is normal. Classic bios delivers correct sound. Same here, I don't get sound during boot animation, but it doesn't bother me. What "bothers" me is that the CDZ and region settings in the unibios don't save, so I have...

I have seen some tweets claiming this release is now "official". Does this mean it will get downloaded via update_all, and we don't need unstable builds anymore?

Re: MiSTer JAMMA Adapter

I think the new JAMMA adaptor from Villena, can power the Mister from the JAMMA harness through the VGA port, is that what you are trying? I personally think it is safer to just use the regular port and an external PSU. Mistercade offers a better solution if you want to take power from the JAMMA harness and avoid the external PSU.

Re: MiSTer JAMMA Adapter

My first JAMM adaptor from Villena (my mister is also from him) worked, but one day, after plugging it in, the picture in the CRT had no synce and the adaptor was unusually hot. I opened it and one trace was burnt. I returned it to him (I live in Spain) and got a new one, that so far has worked perfectly.

Battle Garrega Shottriggers for PS4 has multiple different options for changing the bullet color but I don't believe there are any hacks for the arcade rom.

The Garegga Type 2 rom does that, but with no options, some bullets just have different colors.

In Bakraid, you can choose the colors of the bullet using an in-game combination.

Re: Battle Garegga - visible bullets hack/patch

I also had trouble with the "long" bullets in Garegga, my sight can't differentiate them well from the background and all the debris. There is a type 2 veersion (not a hack) that changes them to round bullets. In Bakraid, you can even change the colors for the bullets in game. I explained this here: https://misterfpga.org/viewtopic.php?p=...

Re: USB vs Jamma versatility: In some scenarios, is Jamma even worth it??

I have both a vewlix cab (not JAMMA with a LCD) and an astro city (JAMMA with a CRT). I can use mister in both (actually, at the same time as well), and the vewlix doesn't have a JAMMA interface, nor is needed (control go via USB to a mini-PAC, and video/audio directly through HDMI). But for the astro city, I use a JAMMA adaptor since all tthe wiri...

Thanks for the core! I used update_all yesterday, and the core was downloaded but not the mra's. I put the mra's from github, and run update_all again, but the roms didn't download. Anybody else with this trouble?

Re: How to skip a control during button configuration, using only a controller?

Hi, thanks for the replies. you can either press User button on Mister or Space on a keyboard. I know that, but I was looking for an alternative way, as I don't usually have a keyboard connected, and the mister may be hard to reach. If you are configuring the controller in a core, then tap/press the button you configured to bring up the menu/osd. T...

How to skip a control during button configuration, using only a controller?

When I am configuring the buttons for a core, specially arcade games, sometime I don't need all the buttons, or my controller doesn't have enough. In those cases, to skip the button I need to press a button on the mister itself, or in the keyboard. But I wish there was a way to do so only using the controller, maybe it is but I haven't figured it o...

Re: 8BitDo M30 D-Pad Not Recognised in MiSTer Menus

I have the same pad, and when used wired with my mister (I prefer wired pads, although it also works a bluetooth controlller, I don't have the 8bitdo receiver), some times it works, and some times it doesn't. Unplugging and plugging it again sometimes makes it work.

I just fired this core again, and I can't access the specific core options in the menu, only the system ones. The same happens with Turbo Outrun. Re: Problem With the PAL CRT TV

My first PAL TV, bought circa 1993, Sharp, was unable to display NTSC or 60hz video, the image would be out of sync, even using an RGB SCART cable. My second one, Sony Trinitron bough in 1999, would display NTSC 60hz in black and white using a composite cable, but full color using a RGB SCART. This was most noticeable when using my modded PAL PSX, ...

Re: Ini-Settings with 3840x1080 Display and Aspect Ratio? [Solved]

I'm glad I could help, I bought a wide 21:9 LG monitor some months ago and the same thing happened to me, the mister was all stretched to the full width, I had to look for the option in its OSD to respect the original ratio of what it receives.

Are you sure your monitor has its internal options set-up to respect the original aspect ratio sent to it, and not stretch it?

Re: Neo Geo CD Core

@AmanoJacu I am not sure what this core can do or cannot do, it is just by looking at what is in the OSD "System Type" where you can select AES, MVS, CD and CDZ that I speculated that at some point this core will replace the NeoGeo official core. This core is not official, it works with the current Linux and MISTer main, no need for unst...

So now, after using update_all, is the NGCD integrated in the regular Neo Geo core? I manually installed an unstable mister distribution file to be able to use the first versions of the NGCD core, will it now be updated and replaced by the official one? Thanks!

If I remember well, some cores (maybe the Jotego ones like CPS2), have an option to crop the picture vertically or horizontally in a CRT, that also helps with this.

Re: Arcade Core Display Issues

This also happens to me quite a lot in arcade cores in my CRT, there's several overscan, and even moving the screen with H/V adjustments only solves what part of the screen I want to miss. The irem m92 new one (your last screenshot) is a good example, in R-Type Leo I either miss the top of the screen, or the score in the bottom, I can't have both. ...

Re: Horizontal and Vertical Adjustments in Settings

The screen flips over via HDMI. And through sega Saturn connected to a crt TV, it does not work in any way, and in many games, for example, jackal, no way to play, does anyone know if there is a way to turn the picture on a crt TV? Do you mean put a vertical game in a CRT without rotating it? Emulators such as using a RGB-Pi have this option, with...

Ok, things have improved, I set the Jpac to Mode 3 by holding down the 3 button and 1 player This changed the device to a Gamepad instead of a keyboard, same ID and I did'nt re define the key still on Jamma standard And Gauntlet now works but still unable to select player two for Neo Geo games i.e Metal Slug If you have the Jpac in controller mode...

Re: Tutorial: How to set up your MiSTer with a J-PAC/I-PAC

I set up all my games from A to Z and found that things are not perfect Ataris Gauntlet I and Gauntlet II only sees the Jpac as one joystick, the same goes for Neo Geo games, i.e Metal Slug, two player at the same time is not possible as the Jpac is seen as one controller. Well, the whole tutorial in the first post is about having 2 players in the...

It has been on the official repository for 22 min. Now you have to wait for Distribution MISTer to be updated before update all gets it.

I just checked github again and I only see IremM92_20230413.rbf from yesterday. I literally installed it like 30 minutes ago

I'm glad it worked, congrats! Things i could not work out was to set up a combo button player i.e mame player 1 is also mame 5 = credit You should be able to do that, but in each core. When you configure the buttons, use the "alternate buttons" to assign two functions to the same button. Is the standard way to have the same button two dif...
