Re: Setting up 2 Controllers With 2 Button Combo for Menu Possible?
SNES contorllers have been tested and are equivalent to Pro controller latency, ~15ms. BT M30 polls ~11ms, for comparison. 2.4 M30 is also right around 11. M30 is only getting down to 5ms wireless if you're using a DB9 adapter, not the native USB receiver. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1KlRObr3Be4zLch7Zyqg6qCJzGuhyGmXaOIUrpfncXIM/edit#gid=0

Re: Setting up 2 Controllers With 2 Button Combo for Menu Possible?
but all controllers work perfectly just like a console experience, the 8Bitdo special bluetooth dongle is really neat, fast and easy connection with sync button unlike regular bluetooth dongles but you need one adapter for each controller. For what it's worth, regular BT dongles are pretty much just as seamless now. When using a regular dongle, you ...

Re: Where would the second ram module go on the digital IO board if/when required
Plug the module in there, flip one of the switches on the DE-10, and you're set. PSX core runs on single RAM, with improvements with two sticks. Based on what we can see in the nightly builds now, single RAM for PSX is a shoe in, and the second stick will likely just be for some performance improvement. Saturn core is still far enough out that I wo...

Re: MiSTer Multisystem - All-in-One System
Was just looking into this, and wondering how it could be integrated if in any way to the Multisystem. I figured it wasn't possible without an entirely different top part of the cover since a Pi would just be too big, but apparently there are versions of the MT32-Pi that use a PiZero instead of a standard sized Pi for the purpose of incorporating ...

Correct. You can download memory card files, and load to wherever you want. I just put mine into /games/PSX/Memory Cards. Links are on the Github.

VGA port doesn't have full color depth, so that very well could be the culprit. You need direct video for full range IIRC.

Re: MiSTer Multisystem - All-in-One System
MT-32 uses the serial port, which the Multisystem has. If you don't go Multisystem, you'll need an IO board for that. SSD will use the USB ports, so no issues with conflict there.

Re: Setting up 2 Controllers With 2 Button Combo for Menu Possible?
I'm very fuzzy about controllers. I can't believe some Mister owners just use a Playstation or Xbox pad with all cores and call it a day,I mean what's the point of investing so much on Mister if you don't care about controller layout and accuracy.. you might as well just use emulation..(controller feel/quality/shape and button layout is as importa...

Re: Setting up 2 Controllers With 2 Button Combo for Menu Possible?
I've taken the time to test this today, and can report the following: Using a SNES classic controller, and an 8bitdo M30 both connected by Bluetooth to the same adapter. Home was mapped to L+R on the M30 and to SL+SR on the SNES controller. I can activate the menu toggle from both controllers while at the main menu. When in a core, only P1 can pull...

Re: Why don't some cores support analog video?
If you're using a lot of PC cores, running on a CRT TV is just a losing battle. You can enable the scaler for 31KHZX cores to downscale to 240p and get it to work, but it doesn't look great. Best option is to run on a PC CRT if you want that CRT look with PC cores. Just enable the scandoubler for any 15Khz PC cores, and you're golden. Or shell out ...

Re: MiSTer Multisystem - All-in-One System
It connects to the RTC module. If you use a regular RTC, you'll have a little soldering to do. If you get one from Antonio Villena, it'll have the I2C port already there to plug the OLED into. You can also do it without an RTC board, but you'll need to make up an adapter PCB with resistors. I just used Antonio's board for ease of use. You can pull ...

Re: MiSTer Super Attract Mode (SAM) is now available - the first game screensaver for your MiSTer!
Any ideas on why I get this error screen when enabling TTY2OLED support? Outside of MiSTer_SAM the core graphics pop up beautifully. In MiSTer_SAM, it shows the core graphic, then swaps to this error screen instead of instead of showing the game name. Any thoughts on why?

Not just yet. I've got extra components on hand and am putting some kits together to sell in order to help cover the cost of the 3D printer and other items I picked up for this project. I do have a handful of extra OLED screens (modified for TTY2OLED), NodeMCU modules, and adapter PCBs available as well for anyone that wants to add a screen to the...

Do you have the link for the documentation you are quoting please? I am interested to test the shadow mask stuff with Jotego cores :) Note that all this does is set the default shadow mask used for any core that supports shadow masks where you haven't already selected one. If a core doesn't have shadow mask support (greyed out in the menu), it won...

You can map a menu shortcut to each and every controller you map, bluetooth, wired, or otherwise. I have half a dozen different controllers, and they all have a menu button set up and it works just fine.

Re: Vertical crop in cores that don't support it in OSD
According to Jotego and Atrac17 this has been added within the MiSTer framework itself so it can be added via .ini (their words not mine). That's why I am asking :) If that's true, it would have to be something like how the shadowmask is handled in the ini file: ;default Shadow Mask ;shmask_default=VGA.txt ;default shadow mask mode: ; 0 - none, 1 ...

Re: Any Difference or Shortcoming Using a Keyboard Instead of the IO Board Buttons?
Biggest benefit to having buttons (in my opinion) is long pressing user/OSD to pull up the BT pairing menu or the controller mapping menu. Being able to pair and map a new controller without having to fist plug in another controller or keyboard to navigate menus is awesome. But once a controller is set up, I don't use the IO buttons for much.

Re: MiSTer Consolizer Case
If you're using a single BT dongle for multiple devices, it's nice to have the shortcut. Especially if you're, for example, using a controller with MiSTer, then with your Switch, then your PC, and then back. Not a dealbreaker, and as you said all of the functions can be accessed through the menu. But a really nice QOL thing.

Re: CRT TV vs LCD Gaming PC Monitor
Lag is mostly going to depend on your display. Best bet is just to use it and see how it feels. If you don't perceive any lag, then it doesn't matter if it's technically a frame or two or three slower than a CRT. A lot of people get hung up on milliseconds and frames, rather than just playing games and enjoying themselves, and that's a big trap you...

Re: MiSTer Consolizer Case
I really struggled with this early on in my design. Everything the buttons do can be handled through the menus using a keyboard or controller. I'm a big fan of buttons--being able to call up the BT pairing script or button mapping is extremely useful when setting up a new console or controllers. Having to pull out another controller to navigate me...

Don't know if it's possible, but is there any chance of support for this being added for i2c2oled. The size of the yellow "header" section looks like it should be just right to display the game name and keep the core logo in the blue.
