Sounds frustrating. :/
Just as a note, I successfully use this SanDisk 1TB A1 with the MiSTer. Did the initial setup about six months ago; wonder if I'd run into trouble like you did using the current setup software.
Another thing is, I do often hear MicroSD cards bought online can be counterfeit.

Re: Permanent changes in button/key remap for game
I'd love it if there was a way to remap the key (combinations) needed to run attached cartridges, to controller buttons, in some of the computer cores (for instance Atari 800 and VIC-20). Being able to map their function keys would also be handy. This too. Similarly: Despite its ability to dump native-res screenshots I find MiSTer is actually a ra...

Re: PSX Core Official Release
I mostly have my .chd files in regional folders - USA, JPN, etc. It seems PSX core automatically creates per-folder memory cards, so I have a USA.sav now. I'd much rather have one-per-game memory card files. Is there any way to make this happen, manually or automatically, right now? That is, without segregating every single ROM image into its own s...

Re: Permanent changes in button/key remap for game
Strong agree. I've known this is an issue for quite a while, but just ran into a big case of it myself yesterday when I wanted to adapt Armored Core's (PSX) outdated control scheme onto a DualShock's sticks. That involved mapping eight buttons to the two sticks. I succeeded, but I will now have to re-perform that tricky series of MiSTer menu inputs...

Re: N64 Core Possibility? (Update! Robert Is Working On This Core!)
That said, full disclosure: I never gave a crap about the N64, although I love Nintendo. And I also never gave a crap for the PS1, just a little bit for the Saturn. But at that time, I have to say I wasn't much happy with how the video market shifted. It was the Dreamcast that got me back in. Curious what you disliked about gaming's direction then...

Re: MiSTer Multisystem Handheld Prototype 'Handy'
Cool stuff! ergo / button thoughts: I suspect it would feel more comfy to play if the right-side buttons were closer to the screen than the edge of the unit. (Perhaps with six buttons the space used by the right-most buttons would allow the four buttons closest to the screen to be relatively further inward by default, and many MiSTer-supported syst...

To slightly modify the above suggestion, perhaps the script could look at a specific /bootsounds folder first, but then also look for any additional boot-designated sounds in the current "playlist" folder. Maximum flexibility that way.

Glad you seem to have it resolved.
There is a thread about Aero Fighters 2 glitching sometimes, and the related Github thread has the suggested workaround of using a non-UniBIOS bios.
Just mentioning to say it's possible UniBIOS is causing issues with this core sometimes.

Re: Has anyone tried a 1TB MicroSD card in their MiSTer?
Eek. Thanks for the reminder that I ought to devise a backup system. I'd been thinking about perhaps trying to wrangle SyncThing. But actually, in scenarios where file corruption is a possibility, I wonder if maybe that's not the best fit (as it could accidentally sync corrupted files).

Re: Has anyone tried a 1TB MicroSD card in their MiSTer?
I also use a 1TB micro SD, it's good. Also, it's a good idea with any size SD card to organize your small rom files in zip files. One zip per system or subfolder or however you organize, for all those super tiny files less than 4kb each. It makes copying back and forth much faster. Yes, excellent point. And beyond copy speed, another reason to coll...

An "official" MiSTer boot sound would also be neat.

Re: MiSTer BGM - Background Music for the MiSTer Menu
Thanks for the response! I agree certain games can benefit from outside music. Actually, that could be a key scenario where the proposed ability to have subfolders acting as separate playlists would be useful, as it'd make it easy for the user to set apart specific tracks that suit a given game they want to spruce up. (Advanced feature tangent: Per...

Re: MiSTer BGM - Background Music for the MiSTer Menu
I've been thinking about the script's features and it seems like it currently covers or will soon cover many of the use cases that occur to me. In addition to creating it, I appreciate how quickly you're improving it! One perhaps subtle feature that could be nice is letting the user control how many times a given file will loop. Seems this could be...

Re: Powered Speakers for PC/MiSTer Recommendations?
Perhaps relevant to this topic, I'd rec the Anker Soundcore Motion Plus as a portable pick. I wanted to put together a portable MiSTer setup with decent-to-good sound, as game audio is very important to me. Soundbars, it turns out, are all way too large for a portable use case, not to mention expensive. Just inappropriate all around. So I turned to...

Re: MiSTer BGM - Background Music for the MiSTer Menu
Great feature, thank you Wizzo. I wonder if anyone has collected all the recent mini-console bgms anywhere? Is there any way to make files loop? Looping would indeed be a great feature (if it's not in there already, I haven't tested yet). It would be nice to have looping off for things like MiSTer startup sound, but able to be enabled for general m...

Yeah, like TLPD-AVW suggested, it's already on MiSTer as Street Fighter Zero 2 Alpha.
Here's a useful post that runs down the various differences between Zero 2 Alpha arcade and the home port. A big one is that Cammy is only in the home version.

FIrst Clean Sweep loaded, then The End immediately loaded instead. With Exi...

Also, I tried Jumping Flash 2 after upgrading to the latest unstable nightly, and I think I will really enjoy this game once I get the hang of it. It reminds me a lot of Super Mario 64. It can be quite frustrating when you fall to your death and have to start all over again, and I am not quite sure what all these power ups do, but I will figure it...

The best place to get updates is BlisSTer's Discord channels. I believe I recall the NES cables in particular were victims of the manufacturing / logistics issues that are so common these days, which is why they've been out of stock for so long. Discord could give you a more up-to-the-minute answer. Invite link is here.

Re: Scanlines while scrolling
I personally always saw the black lines disappear even on CRT's. To my eyes it didn't so much look like they completely disappeared, but more that it took on the appearance of 480i content. I even remember the first time I noticed it when using a crt filter on an emulator thinking, oh it looks just like vertical scrolling on a real CRT. Yes, this ...
