Im not sure who is working on this core these days but any chance we can get the Midilink/UART added to the MacPlus core?

Re: Better performance and 080 support?
What did happen to Gunnar’s offer of 060 level performance to any project with the option to unlock the 080 performance at a price? I only saw reference to it on a1k.org a while ago Other than that, there are no better 68k cores than the one we have. Mikej from FPGA Arcade Replay is developping a 68040 core and porting it to the DE-10 NAno https:/...

Re: Mandelbrot Core
I am getting a really bad display with this core anyway to override the resolution settings, doesn't seem to play nice with my DELL LCD monitor (U2410 F Size: 24 in Resolution: 1920 x 1200).. screen is scrambled and jumping all over the place.. no stable picture .. F12 menu works but the graphics are a total fail.

Re: Better performance and 080 support?
Ah, ok - thanks for the correction. I couldn't remember what it had since I sold mine. It was far, far too buggy when I owned it (Dec 2019 to approx May 2020) so I sold it on (at cost, no profit) while there was huge demand and people just couldn't buy them with a view to buying back in should the project mature to the point I wanted. Now, to be h...

Re: Faster CPU for Minimig core?
The new https://www.buffee.ca/ accelerator project (love the name) is very interesting and could be a possible future solution. Buffee is using an ARM processor for 680x0 emulation/JIT and interfaces directly with Amiga hardware (currently OCS/ECS based systems). But thanks to Buffee being open source as well, the software portion of it could be a...

Re: How to migrate to larger SD card
I also upgraded to a 512gb card .. but my image was an old old old like 1.0 era setup.. so I opted to start clean, used mr fusion to setup the new card, ran update_all script then just copied back the "game" disks/rom/vhds .. I still need to fix up stuff like Basilisk II and PrDoom etc.. i find this is a good idea too, cos you tend to bu...

Humm I have done the "linux_img_update.tar.gz" update and I still cant get UART mode to show MODEM .. just defaults to NONE .. userport set to UART Ive run update and update_all so I am current and this is a brand new SD card with a fresh setup by MrFusion ... Edit: never mind, I did it for a second time and it finally worked .. (no idea ...

Re: Wishlist of Cores You Would Like to See in the Future
Intellivision Exists .. not currently official .. called INTV ... Doesn't count. Immature and not under current development. IDK works perfectly for me .. I have no complaints .. I think the crux of the issue is it has bios hard coded in .. the dev made some comments about it.. but I do think the development has slowed down .. would be nice if the...

Re: Wishlist of Cores You Would Like to See in the Future
Without any regard for feasibility: - DEC Vax Mmmmm VAX would be nice, though trying to get the OS could be problematic .. I think you have to register for it.. NEXT computer I think was talked about before but the conclusion is its not yet do-able probably just over the line of what the FPGA in the mister can do.. That said there is always NextSt...

Re: Porting Mega65 to MiSTer?
It just feels like the Mega65 will never gain enough users for any meaningful development to take place and that seems to me that they've got the strategy wrong. I feel the same way , sure you will get some interesting demos and maybe a game or two .. but thats it .. it likely will be one of those interesting hobby fantasy machines (like the Comma...

Re: What happened to the Baud Settings [OSD]
Has this been officially fixed yet? I am still working on the fix. Unfortunately I am having a problem with neck pain and have to limit my time in front of the computer for now. Unfortunately fix will require a new SD Linux image in addition MiSTer menu, so I need to make sure everything is perfect before I submit PR to Sorgelig... I will post fur...

This core really needs color added .. and say use color as a dimension of say cell health or age.. etc.. I think that would really make this core amazing.

Re: Is it worth to redesign the MiSTer?
The DE10 is a subsidized project. Microchip, IBM, Intel, and others that have chips on the DE-10 have provided those at their production cost to Terasic, for focusing on the educational industry. This is why Terasic can make money selling a board that costs over $300 (at 1K pcs - I know because I was going to make them at one point) for $99 to stu...

Re: Is it worth to redesign the MiSTer?
This is different; it's about replacing the entire MiSTer stack, including the DE10, with one PCB. It would cost a lot more to fab a DE10 clone since the de10 is sold at an "educational" loss.. but I wouldn't stop anyone from doing it and having enjoyment from making it, it just will never be as inexpensive as the genuine article and tha...

Didn't Jim Drew try to do something similar with his AIO mister board but fell afoul ..? I know he was selling it for a while but then the dram layout changed and his AIO quickly got outdated .. there were some other issues too but I know there was a big argument over it with Sorgelig (I also think he didnt make his designs open being one of the ma...

Re: MiSTer in the Commodore 65 / MEGA65 wedge case
I spoke to the developers on their Discord server, and they confirmed that they will sell the Mega65 keyboard and enclosure separately from the Mega65 computer, since people are interested. This is a modern re-imagining of the C65 with a great keyboard, and space for a floppy drive. Ok NOW this project has my attention .. I was never really intere...

Yea I will say he is pretty dedicated .. its just too bad he and Alexy rubbed the wrong way off each other .. but thats not hard to imagine happening.. The CoCo series was a machine I always had "wanted" to play with back in the day but never really got the time/chance to do so .. so it was nice having the core on the mister to putz aroun...

Re: CoCo 3 core updates? Docs? Anything?
What I played with up to when he switched to a patron model worked pretty decently .. I am not a huge CoCo3 guy so I can't really speak to specifics but the various things I tried worked well .. and the UART stuff was working well (that was my primary interest, internet BBS'sing / telecom stuff) and that worked pretty acceptably ..

Re: CoCo 3 core updates? Docs? Anything?
I must have missed the post with the pandemic and all about the new unified group .. that explains why the group has been quiet.
I also think someone else talked about creating an opensource version of the CoCo3 .. I dont know where that is (or if it even got started) .. but it would be nice to have an "official" coco core .

UART is the software modem emulation stuff,, eg it emulates an old-school HAYES modem but works over the internet, for people who like to connect to modern BBSs and two player games that required a modem to connect them (you use an ip address instead of a phone number

Re: C64 core maturity vs alternatives
the Ultimate 64 has more options, like internal REU support, it now has a variable "turbo" mode so you can run stuff up to 48mhz. you can of course also use real 64 external drives, actual cartridges, tape drive, has disk drive sound emulation (either via the audio or a speaker module on the mobo), has 8 hardware SIDS and sockets for usin...
