So basically emulation has some extra checks it can perform, thanks.

Re: How long does it take for your MiSTer to be operational?
Nice paul :D try the latest update, you could shave off another second It seems to also differ based on what version of MiSTer/Linux you are running. But I updated yesterday and its even faster now: This is without the WIFI-dongle (consistent): 00 seconds to see static 07 seconds until I see the mister menu with blueooth ready Wow, I love this proj...

When you eventually get to mounting floppy images. Please look at the "transcopy" disk format, because it handles "copy protected disks" like weak bits, extra tracks, different sector sizes etc..

Re: Can anyone make The Misadventures of Tron Bonne run on the PSX core?
Just as verified ROM dumps are required for the cartridge based consoles, disc rips require the same level of precision and verification. It's the "downside" of FPGA being as close to real hardware as it is. It's not going to ignore slight imperfections the same as software emulation does. When all else fails, compare to a verified copy ...

From switching on at the power my times are: 0 seconds to see static 6 seconds until I see the mister menu 15 seconds until wifi becomes active 22 seconds until Bluetooth becomes active Excellent post, I recorded mine to see how it holds up This was when I noticed it being slow: 00 seconds to see static 06 seconds until I see the mister menu 31 se...

Re: How long does it take for your MiSTer to be operational?
After some experimentation:
* when I remove the WIFI-dongle its faster
* when I plug my BT-dongle in in USB5 instead of USB1 its significantly faster (5+ secs)
Can someone shed a light on this ?

How long does it take for your MiSTer to be operational?
I've been changing my setup and I notice my bluetooth takes longer to be ready.
Now this could be OCD-ish but I remember it being faster before.
So whats a bad/normal/good boot time ?

I believe PiGUS and MT32-Pi are using the same baremetal boot environment so I could see how it might potentially work on the same device. But I guess the question becomes: is the PiGUS needed? Re: PSX Core Ugly Tint
I saw more posts from different cores last week complaining about some color/tint/hue interferance. Maybe it has to do something with the MiSTer main? At any rate I manually replaced unstable main with regular main however the problem persists. Is your MAC address different or the same each to time you reboot?
If its different, you might want to set it via the "scripts" menu.

How about offloading parts that need not be in the FPGA to an RPI4 module via the USB/IO connection or would this be too slow ?

More Power with Two DE10 Nano Boards?
Quick question: I read "there is not enough room in the FPGA" a lot on this forum, usually when the question is to emulate systems from 1997 or newer. (n64, dreamcast, etc) The DE-10 has its limits, but could those limits be broken if a second DE-10 nano is added to the stack? Some form of parallel processing? and would it make a real dif...

Re: How to debug in the ao486 core?
Thank you for that elaborated explanation, that must have taken some time to write. But I was hoping on a more practical solution  Like pitching DOSBox versus AO486 to see where the software breaks in the core. I'm no stranger to x86 assembler, although I'm not great at it, I can find my way. So I was thinking of stepping through the softwar...

How to debug in the ao486 core?
Topic says it all: How to debug in/the AO486 ?
I think my interest lays mainly in the 486/DOS-side of things not the core itself, but I assume there is an overlap
So lets say a program does not run in AO486, but does in DOSBox, and lets pretend in this scenario its something easy.
How would I go about solving that issue ?

Re: A Real PC XT Core Perhaps?
When it comes to the AO486 core, some say that it is quite close to full capacity, and this is after the core having been optimized several times by Sorg and others. I have seen it said several times that x86 is very complex compared to other CPUs in consoles and other computers. But I still suspect much can be gained if a new PC core was started ...

Re: [DOS/4GW] Help needed. We are almost there, the perfect DOS machine
I have no idea what you are saying, sorry :/ Afaik DOS4GW searches PATH for a newer version, and runs it when found bypassing itself. So I do not understand why one would start hacking into the game executable. Besides I can run Warcraft II fine with the "dos32a war2.exe", bypassing DOS4GW completely. Thus the same should work for a newer...
