Re: Apple II Core

we're using connections closer to true RGB while Apple II uses composite? I translated the hex RGB values from the reference post by Linard Ticmanis... There are some slight differences (darker hue for sRGB) but the difference is nowhere as dramatic as the one posted above. I wonder if something is wrong in the core that cause the colors to be so ...

It looks like an issue of tweaking the deadzone for an analogue controller.
I suggest you post this in the "other computers" sub-forum where there is an Apple II thread.

I'd say that is a feature, not a bug :D

Also, can you try using the Gamma options? When I compared my MiSTer to Applewin, I got pretty close to ha e the.same colors using a high (170+) gamma filter.

Re: Classic Synth Cores?

Maybe this could be converted into a core, and instead of using physical knobs have a screen-based interface: http://www.ucapps.de/midibox_sid.html You would probably still need a MIDI keyboard for it though (unless you simulate it via a keyboard). But there is also the question of why not use a regular computer core with software synth, if MIDI is...

Works now!

There is a setting for OSD rotation in MiSTer.ini (left or right).
I'm not sure if any cores use this to automatically choose their orientation, but technically it would be possible (and pretty neat)

Did you check your list vs. the Arcade organizer script? Would be good to validate the script.

3) I am pretty sure the colors are not correct. There are two gray's in GR mode (and DHR) and I think they look pretty close to identical, but on the MiSTer, they don't. I have an actual Apple IIc if you need me to take pictures comparing the two. The colors in the core were taken from this newsgroup post: https://groups.google.com/g/comp.sys.appl...

Re: Recreating a Competition Pro

It's just a bunch of wires going to an Atari "standard" DB9. There are two buttons alright, but they're simply interchangeable. Good luck "programming" them ;) There is the Amiga standard, where you can wire a 2nd button to the DB9. Then it can be mapped inside the MiSTer core to anything else (even Up). But I agree that only 2...

I really liked these mini joysticks from Arcade Forge. I have one in a different color: arcade_mini_joystick.jpeg Unfortunately they don't make them anymore. Re: MiSTer Vs Original Nintendo Battletoads Clinger-Winger The Ultimate Lag Test

A lot of that is personal comfort but it does feel better to use some cool and efficient. Yes! It's often ignored but power consumption on FPGA is usually lower than the original machines. It's even lower jf therr us no ARM present (I forgot what it was on MiST but its lower than the DE10 Nano). By that standard an accurate FPGA core is a much bet...

Looks like I never replied, but the buck converters are perfect for my build!
I found one that outputs 5V on a USB socket, so it works great for a MiSTer setup.
