Re: Terminator Mega CD No Sound

It depends, i guess. By grabbing sets with CHDs compressed images you never know what you get (which CHD version, what compression rate). I'm really too lazy to CHD all this stuff on my own, to make sure it works as expected. Larger SD card/SSD storage isn't that expensive anymore, and i don't need full sets for every system on 1-2 cards/SSDs.

That's why i never use CHD compressed stuff. There are always some kind of sound/music/sync issues that you notice later ingame.

Re: Saturn Core Does Not Launch Games

For "In the Hunt" you have to disable the joypad in port 2 (in Mister Core settings). Then it boots fine. It's a game bug, happens on real Saturn hardware too. Same for Shinobi X/Legions.

Re: MiSTer Laggy

Acording to Eiríkr in Discord chat this is normal that Plasma TVs shows the same number for all 3 test positions. CRT and OLED shows different values, and that's correct too. My C9 OLED e.g. shows 17,1ms on bottom position in 1080p@60Hz (with vsync_adjust=2 and VRR Freesync enabled). A frame in 60Hz needs 16,7ms on a CRT to be displayed fully from ...

Search for "MiSTer Pack Add-on - NEOGEO 2020-05-12". These are already to .neo converted roms. They work fine on Mister. If not then something is indeed wrong. Try a different SD card.

Re: Are You Going to Re-Configure Your MiSTer Setup for Dual RAM?

Saturn core hitting main has me reconsidering dual sticks. A lot of missing sound on my single stick solution. I don't think this has something to do with single/dual ram. Sound is generally buggy, not just missing but glitches/static sound too in more than a few games. The games that already work fine, sound-wise, will do that with single or dual...

Dead of the Brain doesn't have PC-Engine mouse support. So, this won't work. Unless somebody would do a mouse patch for the game.

Re: Impossible Smooth Scrolling at 50Hz?

Checked the monitor specs. The Freesync VRR range is 48-144Hz. So it should scroll perfectly fine for PAL 50Hz games. Do you have this AIM Stabilizer activated? Check the monitor OSD menu for any FPS related settings. As an alternative to VRR, you can use the Aim Stabilizer technology, which uses backlight strobing at a fixed refresh rate to reduce...

Both of these Roms from the No-Intro Set are working without any problems for me:

Ogre Battle 64 - Person of Lordly Caliber (USA)
Ogre Battle 64 - Person of Lordly Caliber (USA) (Rev 1)

Make sure you use the current "N64-database.txt".

I only tried one CHD compressed game so far, and that one worked fine. Was a T-ENG patched version of Silhouette Mirage.

edit: Also tried a random game from this archive.org collection (DecAthlete (USA).chd). Works fine too.

Sega - Saturn [Redump] Collection (CHD)

Try the Japanese version, or the US version with the hit points restoration patch. It's much easier since you have a 3-hit points life bar (but the patch misses the unlimited continues from the original Japanese version).

Use No-Intro roms. If you have the older GoodRoms (your posted rom name suggests that), they mostly have rom headers which is often a problem.

Re: Amiga VGA Output Should it Fill The Screen?

On the Amiga you can program the intended viewable display in any size as you want. Black borders are pretty normal for most of the games. A lot of earlier games (up to 1990) were just plain Atari ST conversions, so borders are pretty much normal in PAL resolution. Another reason for a smaller image was to save CPU performance, which allowed you th...

Why do you want it in Bluetooth mode on the MiSTer? The 2.4GHz option has less input lag and works out of the box. I am missing something? btw: Yes, it's a great controller like most reviews praised. The switch path for the directions might be a tiny bit longer than you'd expect from real joysticks with microswitches but this isn't a disadvantage f...

Anything that needs fast and precise 360 degree controls, like sport games, could benefit i would imagine. I still use Joysticks for Amiga games like Speedball 2 oder Sensible World of Soccer. I'll get the pad in a few days and will test it via MiSTer.

Re: LG OLED C9 MiSTer FPGA 1440p (6x) Help

Pixel repitition is quite pointless for CRT filter, it looks awful. I mean 1440p generally. It looks pretty good on my Dell 27 inch monitor (native 1440p) via MiSTer. The filter effects are more authentic over 1080p (more refined). MiSTER (via analogue out)+Retrotink 5x Pro looks good too, but then in 2560x1440 (with a proper 4:3 image) on my LG C9...

Re: LG OLED C9 MiSTer FPGA 1440p (6x) Help

Maybe. But scanlines+masks looks far better in 1440p. A native 1440p display would be perfect, but 1440p scales most CRT filter nicely on a 4K display.

Re: LG OLED C9 MiSTer FPGA 1440p (6x) Help

Actually not. The C9 and CX are technically nearly identical. Pretty much the same firmware too. LG doesn't support minor updates to slightly older models. Company policy or just plain laziness. Who knows. 1920x1440p should work on an C9, ist just a 4:3 resolution (since the 16:9 2560x1440p works fine for me). It's not limited to the MiSTER, it's j...
