Re: Acorn Archimedes Core

Ok, here is my Classic RiscOS V4.2 HDF. For now I have uploaded it to my dropbox, let me know if it works. CROS takes quite a while to start up, so be patient. There are two requesters "Please insert 'CROS4'", one when the RiscOS boot picture shows and again when switching to desktop. I've always waited until they disappered, unfortunate...

Setting Time Zone in MiSTer

I have a 2nd MiSTer that, unlike my first, doesent have an RTC but instead grabs the time from the 'net but it's always one hour out.

What's the simplest way to change the timezone on MiSTer so it displays the time where I am (UK).

Thanks!

Don't shoot me down if this is a dumb question - lol

So, a MiSTer with blutooth dongle - will it connect to Bluetooth headphones or only KB, joypad or such.

Re: Optimal MiSTer output for a 4K UHD Television?

1920×1080@60 is a straight 2× upscale, so that’s usually what you want. Unless your TV does 1440p upscale better, some newer ones do. Try both and see which one looks better. Thanks for the tip! One of the my MiSTer's is moving downstairs onto a 4k OLED (LG) 65'' when I have finished propogating the SD card. I'll try those two resolutions. Up here...

Re: Optimal MiSTer output for a 4K UHD Television?

My (very short) observation is: It depends on the core. I run it using option 8, but some cores don't work for me unless I change it to e.g. 0 (1280x720@60). I guess it might depend on the TV? I have an LG 55" B7. The cores I have noticed so far isn't working with option 8 are Dig Dug and DigDug2. Thanks for the tip! I heard that a couple of ...

With regard to usung the correct files for MegaCD / Sega CD on MiSTer...
Inside the game folder with CUE/ IMG or CUE/BIN does it matter that there's a .SUB and .CCD file in the same
folder for each game or in some instances a .wav alonside a .BIN?

Should I avoid such a set on MiSTer?

Thanks

Do you have the slim or drive version? I'm thinking about getting the Drive version.
One day when the PS1 CORE might come and we need TBs of storage then the DRIVE version will be brilliant - so future proof now.

Till then - I put a 512gb card in mine. :-)

Using Two Joypads for 2 Player *Question*

So, I'm putting a MiSTer on the BIG TV in the living room and want to have two wireless pads for two player fun. I'm wondering - is is going to 'get messy' if these two pads are different models or are two of the same pad better? I'm wondering as for instance the joypad mapping wont match if I introduce a 2nd pad different to the first likes SNES s...

Re: Composite Adapter for MiSTer

48k Spectrum's composite is actually pretty bad - the dot crawl is very heavy. I'd expect MiSTer's output to be a step up, at least that's the case with Raspberry Pi. Hi yeah - I tried the Speccy (with composite mod) on a flat-screen OLED connected thru the legacy composite ports on my Yamaha AV receiver and the dot-crawn was shocking... like some...

Re: MiSTer SD Card read speed - Any point in going for the quickest?

Are you planning to use your computer to pre-load the card with data ? This would be by far the biggest target for saving time. If you're concerned about load times of data from the card into MiSTer, you might want to explain your use cases. For example, most cores just load a ROM, and most ROMs for systems of this generation are a couple of megab...

MiSTer SD Card read speed - Any point in going for the quickest?

I get that the rather small file sizes of most ROMs used on a MiSTer along with the native load speeds of the machines being replicated but other than that can the MiSTer make use of the extra read spead of a slightly better class of SD card? For instance there are cards than offer a read of up to 100MB/s, upto 160MB/s or upto 170MB/s for instance?...

There are small pins (upper left in picture) that touch the DE10 nano board for power. I have the same setup but with a Digital IO board and I don’t need a splitter (and have an on/off switch too!).

Re: Noob question about power input on MiSTer

So the left power port is just a powered USB port--good for charging devices, etc. The one on the right is in place of the USB board's DC input jack, but is also just a USB power output. Since it doesn't have its own DC power in port, I assume that means it's only getting power from the micro USB connection in the front of the MiSTer. That would m...

This is really a question you should be asking the person selling it to you. But it looks like the power routing to the usb board is internal, meaning you would not have to worry about separate supplies. Noob question about power input on MiSTer

Hey MiSTers! I have a 'noob' question - the enclosed photo is a MiSTer I will have soon (comes in official case - USB 2.1, IO, and D10). I've seen people use 5v power-lead splitters to power the USB and D10 from one power supply - This case does not have two 5v inputs - but the USB board at the bottom has two USB that are marked 'Power' - so (sorry...
