Re: NES Composite Output
@barfood, btw from you video it looked like your mister composite was very good. Are you experiencing "moving dot crawls" with the AV's adapter? Some hours ago I've ordered one but after reading those long thread I'm confused. Is there any video showing that? I mean I've found a relative recent video about it (1 month ago) that looks ver...

Re: NES Composite Output
Has there always been a vga to composite adapter? Or is it a new thing? Has it been made specifically to downgrade the mister signal? It has been available for some time from https://www.antoniovillena.es/store/product/vga-composite-s-video-adapter/, however it should be noted that this adapter currently generates inaccuracies in the composite sig...

Re: Feature request: Simplified or "Party mode" UI
While I get where OP is coming from, this is asking a lot from MiSTer devs for little in return. If this feature would mean so much to you, consider this alternate possibility: 1) Buy an alternate SD card to use at parties. If it gets messed up, nothing of value is lost! 2) if an alternate SD card is too expensive, back up your SD card before the p...

Where are such filters found? They don't seem to be part of the official filter list: https://github.com/MiSTer-devel/Filters_MiSTer

Re: Composite Blend on Genesis core on all console cores?
How so? In my experience it generally leaves any areas without checkerboarding alone. I tried turning on the adaptive blend in the Genesis core but it didn't seem to make a difference, even in games like 3D Blast where the SG's dither blending would be obvious. If nothing else I'd love to understand what I'm doing wrong. Does it require some confi...

Re: TP-Link TL-WN725N V1 Driver
PROBLEM + SOLUTION: My Wi-Fi stopped working after updating the MiSTer OS, and I found out that the rtl8188eu* files have been deleted from the /lib/modules/4.19.0-socfpga-r1/ and /lib/firmware/rtlwifi folders. The steps I needed to do to solve this (from https://github.com/MiSTer-devel/Main_MiSTer/wiki/MISTER-CUSTOM-WIFI-DRIVER-COMPILATION-GUIDE) ...

At this point, you might be better off buying the HDMI -> Composite + S-Video adapter from Antonion Villena (even though its Composite signal is not ideal)

Stepmania is miles above what you could do with a DDR Core, I suggest you check it out! It's already easily available, free, and support custom songs from the community.

Wow I am absolutely blown away by the builds you guys have made. They are not the most practical space-wise, but they are a joy to look at. The digital GE clock in particular caught my eye :) Here's my simple 3D printed case. I chose red, in honor of the SNK red cabs! I'm eyeing the aluminium case from MisterAddons, but I'll wait until my case does...

I'm having trouble with my wifi dongle that used to work for a long time. I followed the setup in that thread and it was working initially, but now I'm getting errors all: IPv6 kernel autoconf disabled and wlan0: waiting for carrier before entering my wifi password. Thanks for your efforts, elvis!
So if I understand your results right, the "NES classic" palette is the closest to matching the AV Famicom? If so, that's very interesting, I never gave too much thought to the NES classic palette since it wasn't made by a community member.

Re: Your favorite NES palette?
Semi off-topic, I wonder if the American NES outputs different colors than the AV Famicom. I have the AV Famicom and Mister hooked to the same TV with a splitter box. Switching back and forth between the two, I can't find a palette that visually matches the SMPTE color bars from the 240p test suite of the AV Famicom.

The .ko file from user ioev, as well as these installation instructions from the mister wiki (https://github.com/MiSTer-devel/Main_Mi ... TION-GUIDE), followed by running the wifi.sh script, worked for me! It does not delete itself either, just works perfectly after this setup.

Re: Your favorite NES palette?
So would you say Unsaturated is the most authentic (OG NES+CRT) palette? I have not been able to compare side by side yet, but I've been playing the NES over a CRT for over 20 years and it's the one that strikes me as the most authentic...scratch... accurate to my experience when using an NES on my own NTSC monitors. However, the palette of an ori...

Re: Your favorite NES palette?
I'm using the Unsatured or the pvm palette at the moment. The Sony CXA is very colorfull, maybe I need to get used to it. Looking at Super Mario, I played this on the NES, but also in de arcades when I was a kid. I don't remember exactly how the colors where for the arcade version. Arcade colors were quite ugly. You can check with the PC10 palette...

Your favorite NES palette?
I personally keep switching between Unsatured V-Final and Pixeltao v2 (from the downloadable custom palettes). I like how faithful the Unsaturated palette looks compared to an NTSC CRT, but I love the satisfying reds of Pixeltao.
Out of curiosity, which ones do you use? Any special reason?

I've got a solid noob question for you guys: how can I boot Windows from DOS? I have DOS 6.22 all setup and working, but I'm more insterested in Windows 95/98. USB hub with one non-working port?
SOLVED: It's by design, a USB socket that only outputs power, does not read data. Original post:-------------- There is one port on my USB hub that doesn't seem to work at all: it's the one next to the power plug, on the side where there is the HDMI connector. There is no green light next to the USB port when I connect something in this port, but a...

Ahh! There it was. Thank you, it works for meLeftEmpty wrote: ↑Sat Jul 11, 2020 5:53 am Do you press "A" to tell the MiSTer which controller is player 1 first? That's a new tentative rule implemented in the latest MiSTer update, and it confuses a lot of people especially in arcade cores, since you don't try to press any other button but the coin one in those initially.
