Re: Atari Jaguar Core
My understanding is the original dev kit they had subcontracted out had bugs, not the hardware and was rectified by Atari over a weekend! There are interviews with various developers that indicate it wasn't all that difficult to develop for but spending the development time on a system with an uncertain future wasn't worth it. I agree that thread ...

Re: Atari Jaguar Core
It was not that developers were too lazy, the hardware had several bugs that made the use of certain components impossible until work arounds were found. This took a while and it meant that many Jaguar games couldn't use the full potential of the console. The core includes all chips of the Jaguar (not the CD Rom Add On), but is not finished. The ma...

Re: Atari 8-Bit Computers
Yes, thats true, I always imagine what could become of the series, when the publisher didn't decide to screw Price and Gilbertson. I imagine the final game a little bit like Ultima Underworld only years before Ultima Underworld. If you like Gary Gilbertson's music, try the music disc that Gilbertson and Price made before Trail... but then I think y...

Re: Darius Plus not loading as *.SGX (follow-up to initial GitHub issue#102-now closed)
Wouldn't call it a quick port, for what it is, Darius Plus is still an extremely impressive HuCard. Of course it's not as complete as Super Darius, but then it is just 512 KB. The Supergrafx version has less flicker, then even Super Darius, so I wouldn't say it's only a stripped down version of Super Darius.

Re: Controller Latency
Anyone know if the Retro-bit Mega-drive controllers would be the same latency as their Saturn controller which got tested here? I can't say anything about the wired Retro-bit Saturn controller, but the wired MegaDrive controller is very good. I can only speak from a subjective perspective, but I find PC-Engine games like Darius II or NeoGeo games ...

If we are doing recommendations for the core, I can't praise Space Harrier enough:

Re: Special Chip Support
Bit The ST018 chip is a complete 32-ARMv3 CPU runnung at 21.47 MHz. According to Wikipedia this chip contained around 300.000 transistors. For comparison the first ARM chip working in the Archimedes contained 25.000 transistors and the CPU running on the SNES contained about 22.000 transistors. I think recreating such a complex CPU for a FPGA is to...

Atari 8-Bit Computers
Just realised that the forum still lacks an Atari 8-Bit topic. What a great machine, I love the wonderful noisy Pokey sound (and the fantastic Pokey Music in Alternate Reality and Trail of Beta Lyrae). The core is already very mature, I didn't found anything that doesn't work (even the homebrew Space Harrier cartridge), but I guess new users will h...

Re: Issues migrating roms to HDD
It seems I am doing something wrong, with an folder called "NEOGEO" as a subfolder of "games" on my HDD, the core goes to the cross hatch test screen after loading a game. The Bios files are in the folder "games/NEOGEO" and the folder "NEOGEO" is an exact copy of the folder "NeoGeo" on my SDCard. Fr...

The working Rom has the same byte size as yours, mine has the md5 3274eee61dae966e15822558940e5d4d.

Re: USB CD-ROM Support
The only thing dumping-on-the-fly can possibly do is make the experience worse due to read errors and less consistent read times. Much better to keep the code lean and bug-free than introduce this false-real-disc reading for the sake of some strange ritual. You can throw in a "scratched disc mode" that produces read errors at a random ra...

Re: Atari Jaguar Core
Are you talking about the Electron Ash core? https://github.com/ElectronAsh/Jaguar_MiSTer_master I am not sure he is working on it anymore, no updates since November sadly. Have downloaded it so will give it a go. Would love a working Jag core, the consoles are too pricey to really justify buying these days. The core was moved to a new repo: https...

Re: Atari Jaguar Core
Yes, T2K is a bit of a tease isn't it! It is my favourite Jag game so would be good to see further progress with compatibility - whenever I hook up my Jag I usually only end up playing that. I never found the original controllers very confortable so its good to have alternatives - Not sure how the numpad support will end up working out tho. Always...

I have just got back to this, bit relieved that issue was reproducible and I'm just not going crazy. I have just now messaged Nat from misterfpga.co.uk but according Heuristics, the communication with him should be fine. Thanks anyway, rickdangerous :) I have offered him to send the faulty RAM back for diagnostic, I'll see how it develops. I have ...

Re: Atari Jaguar Core
Does it run anything playable yet? Some 2D games seem to work, there is a video on youtube of Cannonfodder running without hitches. I tried some 3D games and he core was mostly crashing or the games were not working at all. Right now one of the main obstacles seems to be that the DDR3 RAM of the MiSTer is used for the main RAM and the SD RAM is on...

Re: Converting CDD/IMG Disk Images to CUE/BIN
Does anyone know how to convert CDD/IMG (Clonecd images) to CUE/BIN format so that they can be used with Turbografx CD? I have several games in CDD/IMG format, and so far I haven't found out way to run them on this core. Any help would be appreciated. Mount the image with Daemon tools and then use imgburn to create a .cue/.bin image from the image...

Re: "Bad contact between games" error
Does memtest have any value then? Tried reseating the RAM, twice, and while I dont get any of these errors again[at least from the short testing of first metal slug], there are now a lot of little graphical glitches and slowdowns, more frequent as the game goes on, which werent present before, when it was 'just' crashing. Its the XXSD 128MB module...

Re: "Bad contact between games" error
if it passes the memtest and something like bad apple demo has no artefacts or glitches[afaik, it should push the ram module], then how can it be related to ram issue? is the memtest not enough of indication, whether the ram is good or not? I didn't ran the Bad Apple demo, so I can't say anything about this, but the memtest working doesn't mean th...

Re: "Bad contact between games" error
After setting up the NeoGeo core, with needed bioses and romsets.xml and the games themselves, in every game I have tried[Metal Slug - Super Vehicle-001, Metal Slug X, Neo Bomberman, SNK vs Capcom], sooner or later, it crashes, with a message that pins on the cartridge should be cleaned. Reloading or loading other game doesnt work, the core needs ...
