Re: N64 Core

Today's update made more games playable that were to slow before (e.g. Gauntlet Legends), they seem fullspeed now (even if I can't say for sure). It seems more games work now (e.g. Hydro Thunder).

More than 90% of the games already work very very well :).

And in /media/fat/games/N64 add uncompressed game files (.z64 etc) as well as a US N64 BIOS renamed to boot.rom and optionally a Euro BIOS renamed to boot1.rom

You can also have the Roms zipped.

Re: N64 Core

Thanks for the info, this is interesting, never would have expected that a console not even able to output RGB would be supporting PAL60. This makes the everdrive a non brainer for N64 PAL users as it gives a lot of additional value as it also gives you the N64 passport function.

Re: N64 Core

When the N64 you used was a PAL model it doesnt matter if you use the NTSC or PAL rom, the game will still be tied to the 50Hz PAL refresh rate making it run as fast as the PAL version but having the disadvantage of running in a lower resolution because PAL Goldeneye had a slightly higher resoulution (making it run a bit choppier in combination wi...

Re: N64 Core

I grew up with PAL, so why would I care about NTSC ? In the end it is completely subjective. As someone who grew up with a PAL 2600 I see where you are coming from. I think if you never played any N64 games the NTSC version is the better choice but if your muscle memory is tied to the PAL version then maybe this version is better. As somebody who ...

I used the Sanni Cart Reader to dump my original carts including Super Mario 64 and its save file. Can someone please tell me how I change from CD1 to CD2 with the Saturn? Thanks

The original Saturn hardware did a reset and returned to the menu when opening the drive door, so any multi CD games had to save before changing the disc. On the core you can simply mount the second disc and reset.

The 5200 had analog joysticks, I don't know how well implemented they are in the 5200 core but if you want to play with a d-pad I suggest switching to the Atari 8-Bit computer core and play Choplifter! on this platform as it had digital inputs on the computer.

Do you have the names.txt file on your card? If so the NES core might be named different due to this file. Try renaming it to names.tx_ to see if this makes a difference.

Typo on my side, I think I am in fact on X-Input and not on D-Input. I was on a USB N64 clone pad before but I wanted the rumble that was why I bought the Tribute64. I would have opted for the Brawler because of the octagonal frame around the jostick, but as I read that thorr wrote in this thread that he didn't got the Brawler to rumble I opted for...

I do not know if rumble is already working on the current unstable or not. At least with the retrobit Tribute64 Wireless V2 gamepad I had to switch the input mode be...

Have you tried if this also happen with only one controller? It could be a faulty USB cable or something with the USB Hub you use. Hard to tell. I guess the only way to find out is to try one component after the other as the source of the problem.

Retrobit Tribute USB

it just doesn't recognize any button to use as osd menu automatically

I always have to go press on mister board.

I mapped the OSD to one of the grey top buttons on the pad and this works.

Re: Analogue N64 Product

Upscalers are cheap enough. I'd be VERY surprised if it's processing at 4K. I too doubt it will process 4K. This would mean to design an entire new GPU that performs exactly the same way as the original GPU but does everything in a resolution roughly 100 times higher then the N64 resolution. I doubt the Analogue team has the capabilities to develo...

Strange, I do not remember Duke Nukem 3D ever needing a CD, even the Atomic Edition. But either way, remember to use DOS32A to replace DOS4GW or it will probably not run into errors, other than this one. Make sure the CD is in the drive it expects it to be or try reinstalling the game.

The Atomic Edition needs the CD to be in the drive.

There is also a mod that works on 128K Spectrums, yo...

Re: ZX Spectrum: Rebuilding boot.com

At least on Sorgelig's original core for the MiST FPGA (which I think was ported by him over to the MiSTer) it was possible to change the roms. The documentation for the MiST says: ROM Format: You can create your own spectrum.rom, for example to replace +3 ROMs with +3e. The format is: Boot (GLUK) + TRDOS + 128 ROM0 + 128 ROM1 + +3 ROM0/1/2/3 + Plu...
