it is normally one of two things
1 you are using ftp to transfer to the sd in the mister if so set transfers to binary on the ftp app you use
2 you are not downloading the file from the git and instead are downloading a web page check the size of the download to make sure its more then a few k the mister file should be just under 600kb

Re: Bionic Commando
you could just remove the dip settings part out of the mra and it will work there is no need to build a rom
or use the alts as they not been updated so do not contain the dip settings anyway

Re: Console cores black screen
Just had a quick read of this thread initial post says you have been using vga for the mister and later you mention you have had the ram for years So would i be right in thinking it works fine using vga but not when using hdmi ... If this is correct then making a new ram board will no doubt give the same result it seems you need to find out why it ...

Re: What does MiSTer stand for? Is it an acronym?
It depends how you look at it i guess at first the mist was designed for an fpga atari st so i presume the mi originally stood for mini.
Then minimig was ported to the mist so i believe the mi part of the name changed its meaning to minimig which stands for mini amiga
So the mi stands for either mini or minimig

after reading this link though that looks bad to use
viewtopic.php?p=636#p636
so maybe using a reduced blank setting would be better
video_mode=1920,48,32,80,1440,3,4,34,184829

Re: translate VESA timings
in the mister.ini is this line custom mode: hact,hfp,hs,hbp,vact,vfp,vs,vbp,Fpix_in_KHz so looking at that link starting from top General timing Pixel freq. 234.0 MHz take the 234.0 and multiply by 1000 and that would be the Fpix_in_KHz part then Horizontal timing (line) Visible area 1920 = hact Front porch 128 = hfp Sync pulse 208 = hs Back porch ...

Re: Two Amiga Cores?
Using the offical updater will only get the rbf named minimig from the mister git, you was talking about adding the amiga folder yourself manually the folder will only be added if you have not changed that option and the official mister updater script is run with no minnimig core on the sd card instead of making a minimig folder it creates a folder...

Re: Will there be support for *.CHD PC-Engine CD files?
Sorry I meant CHD files I don't know where I got CDE from -_- At any rate it doesn't look like there is a good way to convert them back to bin/cue. There is a way but multi track games will lose audio. Guess my files are useless for this application. :( You should be able to use chdman to convert back as it holds the information from the cue it wa...

i used the info from puu here Due to copyright issues, some files may not be included in the archive. I'm sorry that the attached document is written in Japanese. (Because I can understand only C, VHDL and Japanese) Probably the missing one is the font file. Save the 8x16 dot font file as Font/fonth.hex. Since there is an 8x16dot part in FONT ROM(0...
