What cable so I need to connect MiSTer IO board to 1084s-d2
What cable so I need to connect MiSTer IO board to 1084s-d2
What cable so I need to connect mister io board to 1084s-d2? I have an Amiga monitor coming and right now I have a VGA to BNC RGB and a VGA to component cable. I need something to connect to the 1084 from my analog board
Re: What cable so I need to connect MiSTer IO board to 1084s-d2
In the states some companies appear to sell a specific VGA to RGB (hd15 to db9) cable which may work. In the UK these cannot be found anywhere. Also it appears that a lot of hd15 to db9 cables are NOT wired correctly to connect MiSTer to a 1084S (I know this, because I bought one and tried it)
In the end I ended up making my own converter using a couple of terminal blocks from Amazon (https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07N2W7565/ - for example) and some jumper wires. I then used a standard db9 cable to connect the convert into the back of the 1084S and it looks perfect to my eyes - I love it!
It took me several attempts to get the right wiring, because different diagrams seemed to disagree how pins were numbered (or I was getting my counting wrong - quite probable). I'm glad I went with terminal blocks rather than trying to solder a cable because that would have taken twice as long with all the trial and error involved.
This is the diagram that I found online and that worked for me:

Thank you that will be very helpful if I can't find a working cable. There are lots of adapters on Amazon but none seem to indicate how they are wired

I suggest this DB9>female Scart adapter and then connect Mister to it using VGA>RGB SCART adapter (bought with Mister self)

If your 1084 has a SCART connector, I also recommend using that, it works very well here.
