Why the need to config p2 controllers?

Unread post by DaveGeorge »

I had not updated my mister for a while, and now when I did for some reason almost every arcade core I try I also need to enter the inputs for player 2 if I want to change the button config. This is very annoying since I neither have a second controller or a keyboard connected.

Is there some way to change it back to how it was earlier? Like every controller has it’s own config and the first one pressed is player 1 and the next is player 2 and so on?

I believe that this would help when using two different types of controllers, or possibly a single controller interface for two physical controllers (like some of the arcade interfaces work). IMO it's highly useful. Maybe a simple menu item to select controller count before mapping could work or something like that?
