No retroarch has a history of ignoring emulators developers wishes. Duckstation for example. Retroarch should never be supported. I use Ares and never see any issue, sound and picture are perfectly in sync. You do know that under the hood retroarch is just a collection of standalone emulators.

While I agree with you, please don't site Duckstation as an example. That developer has...issues.

There was also a MAME developer who said that RetroArch is "slapping them in the face" by having a package manager that lets you download MAME cores. So then every single Linux distro is "slapping them in the face".

I love all of these projects btw. I just wouldn't take emulator drama too seriously.

I believe they were angered at the ridiculous feature of being able to download Ancient Mame versions. wasnt in the .39 beta versions? These ancient versions work on low powered devices but aree 20 years old and give a false impression of Mame. People raise issues that have been fixed decades ago.

Plus people confuse retroarch with mame and think retroarch is mame.

This. I had contact with that person and it's simply.. well.. not a pleasant experience at all.
It was expelled from the PCSX2 team recently, too.
