Thanks, I like this more than mine one. But there is a point that breaks the image: the dropshadow at the bottom of the text is missing. This looks like a photo of persons "without heads" ;) If you would like to redo, I'd be glad to exchange mine the picture to your one.

No Problems at my end.
Test (still runs) with MiSTer SAM (not the latest Version).
CP210x UART here.
And a parallel running i2c2oled.

A few more systems that are WIP added to the sheet, and also the 32X release. :-)

Also added a few arcade boards that JT and others have mentioned having and planning to do for any keen beans. I would expect some of the other MiST computer cores may pop up with quick ports in the not too distant future if anyone is wanting to get ahead on those.

I've just built a second MiSTer and everything is great except for this one minor thing.

When I load a core, sometimes the tty2oled will work but more often than not, I keep getting a data transfer error.

I don't get this error on my original MiSTer.

Can anyone help me out please?

This picture is shown if the wrong amount of data is received by the display.
Check your cable and connection.
Let us know about the hardware.
Script and Device Firmware Up-To-Date?

Is the tty2oled bootup picture shown?
Is the Menu Picture shown after MiSTer start?

Is this display working correctly on your first MiSTer?
Any hardware differences between your first and second MiSTer?

As Venice has already told you, this image only occurs when the data it receives is wrong. In fact, the first tests I did with images turned out like this until I understood what was happening. Any of the images in the repository are perfectly created. Don't forget to adjust the micro sd can be a big headache sometimes

Or did you already post something about it?

Thanks for the replies guys.

The first one I got was a pre built MiSTer DRIVE from Antonio Villena and the second one is a MiSTer Plus also from Antonio that I built myself.
I took the same Samsung 512GB SD CARD out from the first one and put it in the second one MiSTer.
All the scripts have been fully updated.

All works perfectly fine except for this tty2oled, which gives me this data transfer error when I load a core.

I'll try the suggestions that you guys say when I get back home from work. 👍

You have two MiSTer - but how many tty2oled devices? If one, is this one working fine with the first MiSTer? If two, what happens when exchanging both vice versa (and don't forget to cross change all parts (like cables) between devices) ?

Sorry, I didn't make myself clear.
Yeah, it's the same (one only) tty2oled device that I'm trying to get working on my second MiSTer.

Not quite working again! 😣
Can someone explain to me what's going here...
Why I cannot open such file or directory?

9qwG3x3.png

I'm still getting this 'data transfer error' when I load a core!😢

Image

Upon fresh start up the tty2oled start up then the MiSTer logo start up fine.
I get this data transfer error whenever I load a new core or when I hold down the buttons for a cold reboot.

This is not a real error but an ugly message. The Updater trys to read an user's INI file, but if it isn't there (and it isn't normally) this irritating message appears. This was simply a remaining bug from the merge of system and user ini we did some weeks ago - which I've just fixed. But had nothing to do with your problems which seems to be hardware based.

Yes, but if anything it seems more 100% stable.
It's given me that data transfer error just once on the 1st MiSTer.

On the 2nd MiSTer using that same tty2oled (from Antonio) it seems to be giving me that data transfer error more frequently.
I noticed if I load the same arcade core again, it corrects the tty2oled screen problem to what it should be.

New Testing FW 220422T for the tty2oled Device available.

This Version is mainly for MiSTer SAM Users which have tty2oled support enabled.
So please try this Version and give feedback.

See https://github.com/venice1200/MiSTer_tt ... ngoptional for how to enable "Testing" for your tty2oled device.

If you use the Arduino IDE, find the Testing Sketch here: https://github.com/venice1200/MiSTer_tt ... SB_Testing

Changes:
  • Possible Bugfix for CMDPTONE/CMDPNOTE for d.ti Board v1.2
  • Adding Command CMDSETTIME to set the ESP32 RTC
  • Adding Time and Date to the ScreenSaver, for ESP32 only

Seems to be working fine here with SAM so far (had some text printing through other text with the earlier version).
The date and time are a nice addition to the screen saver.

As you are the only known tty2oled User which use a ttyACM0 Interface, could you do me a favor?

Open a console after the MiSTer has started and type

Code: Select all

echo "CMDCLS" > /dev/ttyACM0
The Display Screen should be cleared.

Wait a few seconds and type

Code: Select all

cat < /dev/ttyACM0
and Post the result here.

Did you run the three

Code: Select all

echo "CMDCLS" > /dev/ttyACM0
one after the other and then

Code: Select all

cat < /dev/ttyACM0
?

I expect this:

Code: Select all

ttyack;ttyack;ttyack;
