Can ports on USB hub be used to power small/portable speaker...?
What are the "power only" ports for...?

they supply you with power only, 5V/500mA. the question "can it power X" depends entirely on the device. if its fits the power requirements, then it can be powered from usb

The power only port is just what it says--power only. No data connection on it. Good for powering a USB speaker, wireless controller charging cable, etc.
