VESA 2.0 Under DOS

Flynnsbits's answer from a year or 2 ago is still as valid as it was when he posted it. VESA won't work on this core in its current state.

Where did he say that? And as I mentioned in my post above, I was able to get it working in my setup.

Edit: Ah, I see where he said it now, but if you keep reading, @alexoughton did seem to figure it out, and as mentioned I was able to get it working with SDD653 using his posted settings.

So is Rayman working?

Alright, so I tried Rayman in my VHD with UniVBE and now it actually doesn't show a bunch of random characters on the screen anymore and I get the blue bar at the top that says "Rayman (EU) v1.12" with a blinking cursor. Unfortunately, the game just hangs at the blinking cursor

So...kind of progress? But still no dice.

I've been looking further, and I've now found a solution which works for all resolutions and has passed every test I've thrown at it.

Use version: SDD653-D
Commands:

Found out that a rather obscure game, Surface Tension from 1996, would NOT run actually without this
Without UNIVBE set:
