Sega is making a Game Gear Micro to celebrate the 60th anniversary:

There is also an article on The Verge:

Looks like a nice little gadget, but to expensive for four games only.

Looks like they are going to sell them for $50 each with 4 different models.
Let's see what hackers find out about them once they get their hands on them but at $50 each
they are still on the high side price wise though you can't eat for two people for 50 bucks in a halfway decent restaurant...

There won't be a sd card slot or something.
I think hacking is going to be hard.

Does not look like a good buy to me. Expensive and limited games.

RPGs on a screen that size? Do Sega not realise people of that generaton have messed up eye sight now because of the Game Gear.

They should be making us large screen editions. After all all these mini consoles plug in to TVs 5x or more the size we originally played those games on.

The Sega Mini failed so now they are making a microscopic Game Gear so when they fail this time it will only hurt a tiny bit.

Every point of the way they failed, price, screen size and game selection. This might be worth it for $20 but there is no world where paying $50 for 4 games on a sub par mini screen and controls makes any sense. I don't know who beyond mindless collectors would get this trash.
