I tried Ape Escape, but for some reason I cannot get the analog sticks to work.
Any idea what I am doing wrong?

Have you changed the pad type from digital to analog?

Have you re-setup your controller in Main?

Yes
pgimeno wrote: Fri Feb 11, 2022 3:53 pm Have you re-setup your controller in Main?
I do now, but the problem remains. Maybe my mister config is too old.

EDIT: 2022-02-15
It seems a PS5 controller works just fine but my PS3 controller does not. You think this is controller related? as it works fine with other games.

I've been playing Bugs Bunny Lost In Time since the first version of CD audio was implemented in the core, and the game has no issue whatsoever. I'm half way through the game now, and it's still an awesome and hilarous platformer, I highly recommend it. It looks pretty timeless as well!

Tried it for the first time with the latest build today, fantastic work! Thank you so much @FPGAzumSpass!

I tried 'Harmful Park' through the first 4 levels without a single hitch - plays and sounds perfectly. Can't wait to try more tonight!

In "Cross Tantei Monogatari (Japan)" all speech audio is going too fast. This happens right from the start of the game. Otherwise it seems to be fine. This is on PSX_DualSDRAM20220220_2.rbf.

EDIT: fixed in PSX_DualSDRAM20220503.rbf

Has someone tested the Tomb Raider – featuring Lara Croft | Englische Version | [SLES-00024] Version of the Game ? I found a report (German) showing a possible fix for game launch issues on PS3, which are identical to the current behavior on PSX Core.

Fighting Force boots very slowly into a blank screen with sound

Street Fighter EX2 Plus freezes if demonstration is left on for about an hour and a half or less

Couldn't get Advanced V G 2 to work (tried 3 different roms)

Dead or Alive has this blinking overlay and forced scanlines

Did you guys miss that the PSX is still WIP and basically an Alpha build?

The wiki says:
Work in progress, don't report any bugs!

People are just having a discussion in a thread called compatibility list, they are not constantly harassing Robert with bug reports.
Not quite the same thing. Plus if you go on the discord he actually accepts bug reports. He even did a bug smasher video.

MiSTer Main just released with several PSX updates. Update to the latest PSX Nightly core and the compatibility should be better. Especially with the update that was released yesterday, it fixed a lot of things.

Some games that still have issues is Tomb Raider 1 and Soul Reaver. Tomb Raider gets stuck after starting the game in the games menu, but there should be a patch for the game that gets that to work. It is known what the problem is, a missing CD command in the core or something, so Robert will look into that at some point. Not sure how applying the patch to the game works, but it should make the game not use that CD command or something. Soul Reaver still has random lockups. It should be possible to get past that just by using save states, but it means having to just keep trying to get past it until the game does not freeze and you can get further into the game.

Not sure what issues other games have, but sure seems like a lot more games run much better than they did a few weeks ago. Doom and Lemmings 3D f.ex. would not boot, but the update with CDDA and multiple tracks support helped solve that.

viewtopic.php?p=45042#p45042
Main:
- Initial support for MiSTer Game Launcher (mgl) file. (similar to MRA, but for any(almost) core).
- PSX: Support for multi-track CD.
- PSX: support for CHD (zakk4223).
- PSX: supports for cheats (Marcoen Hirschberg).
- PSX: noreset.txt file to prevents reset on next CD mounting (useful for Action Replay CD).
- Support for 256 phases with 10bit coefficients filters (cores will be updated later to support it).
- Support keyboard scancode switch commands (Aitor Gómez). Attn: requires ao486 update too!
- some other tweaks.
Latest PSX core changelist:
[Robert Peip 2022-02-23 4468003]
- CPU: fix COP0 registers to not have delays(fixes e.g. FF8, Jumping Flash)
- CPU: block IRQ after after Exceptions(fixes e.g. FF8)
- DMA: writing to D_CHCR does not always request DMA
- DMA: writing to DPCR does not always request DMA
- DMA: manual request works now for all channels
- DMA: don't start and wait with DMA when CPU is in middle of memory access anyway
- DMA resource usage reduced
- added REPtimingGPU for vram2vram
- deactivated gun crosshair because of resource usage
- added 'Advance Pause' debug feature: advance 1000 clock cycles in pause mode for each press

I have found out, that waiting long enough (30-90minutes) makes Tomb Raider 1 to run Lara's House. Even 1st mission has loaded successfully.

I have tested unstable playstation 20220223_154468 core. It will probably work the same way in previous versions too.
