Bounty Bob Strikes Back on Atari 800 Core

So, wanting to play Bounty Bob Strikes Back, I've added a ROM mapping to the code for this cartridge. The games comes up, I can select the high score screen or options screen (SELECT or OPTION keys), and START will scroll the starting screen up.. But, nothing else works. It's possible that I'm still missing something in my mapping but is this possibly a known lack of proper hardware functioning affecting some other aspect of the system? I know from my real Atari that the title screen here should have birds flying in dropping off the letters to the title..

I think the disk versions work fine, so guess this is a bug with the new mapper.

Though of course never say never!

I don't know, looks like you just have a mistake somewhere. Same image works in Altirra then? Maybe challenging to get to the bottom of this. Good luck.

By adding a mapping to the ROM you mean patching the 5200 ROM? Just out of curiosity, why don't you use the 5200 core for the ROM? I tested the ROM and it worked fine in the 5200 core.

The only non cartridge versions for Atari 8-Bit computers I was able to find (XEX and ATR) where PAL versions. There was a cartridge release for Atari computers in the US, but as far as I see it, it is not in the TOSEC. The ATR and XEX versions work only with OS-A and OS-B and only when the core is in PAL mode.

I presume he meant adding another cart mapping in the core for cart loading. Actually this code is pretty advanced and has all kinds of mapping for various cartridges.

I found a quote that said that BBSB messes with Portb for anti-piracy. So try it with ram set to 64k.

Oh and also looks like it doesn’t like stereo pokey.

There is more discussion here, perhaps best to go with 5200 version!
