I don't remember the Playstation having such amazing sound. I guess my device was hooked up to a crappy TV back in the day. Mister with optical into my receiver is sound really great.

It has great sound, I fed it into my Dolby ProLogic home theater back in the day. Lots of games made good use of the CD audio and have fantastic soundtracks.

Last night I could not resist and I decided to try a nightly build. The SPU sounds so much better than what I'm used to with software emulators. Graphics are pixel perfect (barring bugs) and have perfect scrolling. The fast CDROM option makes a huge difference for some games like Tomba that have long load times on real hardware. The core is already quite phenomenal and I can't wait to see it mature more.
