Filtering Cores

Is there any filtering available to filter cores by buttons/controls/joystick restrictor (eg 4-way)? It would be nice to only pull the arcade cores available that are suitable for the arcade cabinet it is installed on.

The script looks nice, but I specifically want to filter cores suitable for my arcade cabinets. So I need multiple criteria, such as joystick restrictor, buttons, resolution, and orientation. This script seems to only make symlinks based on single criteria (unless I am missing something). I would guess nothing like this currently exists?
