I will wait until the situation stabilizes:
We got a new official MISTer Main and a new NeoGeo core.
When we get a new unstable MISTer Main based on the new official MISTer Main I will resume testing with NeoGeoCD_20230217.rbf or any new NeoGeoCD core.
Here is a new version that has working CD audio. A new MiSTer Main is included.
Used the files from this zip + bios from here ( https://github.com/Abdess/retroarch_sys ... op-sp1.bin )
I just love that Astro City cab. The closest I have got to own one is the Astro City Mini, lol.

- Put .rbf file in Consoles folders
- Put "MiSTer" in the root . If is the case , replace the old you have with this one !
- Put "top-sp1.bin" in games / NEO GEO folder
- Put .chd (i used Ironclad.chd) in games / NEO GEO folder
- After lunch the Neo Geo CD core , enter in the menu core and select "System Type : CD"
- Lunch the game.
- Enjoy !
Just tested this and worked perfectly. I tried putting the .rbf in the _unstable folder and it didn’t work, but in the _console everything went fine.
Btw, just played Real Bout Special to the end and the Blue Mary music video is perfectly synchronized.
Thanks for the developers for doing this. For lots of us, the NeoCD was the only way to go back then, so it holds lots of nostalgic value.

Put .chd (i used Ironclad.chd) in games / NEO GEO folder
About that, yes top-sp1.bin(bios) must be in NEOGEO folder, but you can create a NeoGeoCD folder to put your .CHDs and not mix with your MVS roms. Better organized this way, at least for me.

Agree , i didnt tried , but yes , a separate folder created in games folder as lets say “neo geo cd” can be better , but anyway , they cant be confused … neo geo games are .neo extension, neo geo cd are .chd extension

So I've done exactly that, set system to cd and tried both .CHD or cue and I get a black screen, nothing happens at all. Definately correct locations and bios in the Neogeo folder. Any ideas?

And what about the Main Mister file, have you placed the "special" one to the root of your SD card ? Without it, the NG-CD won't work.

You need to do a cold reboot after replacing the MiSTer file otherwise it won't work.

I have done a full power cycle including switching the arcade cabinet off and on after replacing the mister file, as per video, the bios is present, the latest rbf is in consoles folder and have tried the chd / cue bin combo to no avail.
Do you really have the correct Bios file?

Are you using filezilla or some similar program to copy the main mister?
If yes, that's the problem, the main mister sent by filezilla gives a lot of problems, try removing the SD card from the mister and copying main mister directly from a computer.
Core can be copied with filezilla

At least to avoid issue with Filezilla, the transfer needs to be done in binary mode (Menu tranfer -> Transfer type -> Binary)
Or simply use WinScp in lieu and place of FileZilla which is I agree is a preferable choice.
PS: This is my point of view of course, but I would avoid as much as possible to remove an insert the SD card to the Mister for a reliability point of view of the SD socket.
With the right tools, the FTP transfer works verry well.

Thanks guys fixed the issue it was a FTP thing, manually coping the files specifically the mister binary fixed it, thanks very much for the tip, hope this will help someone else in the future

Is it technically possible for this core get a cd loading speed hack like the neosd loader? To remove the loading all together or to speed it up to like X4?
I guess that the old 32MB SDRAM expansion will be sufficient for CD games, right?

Is any news about this core dev? He still working on this core?
I uploaded some new fixes. Most of the games on the spreadsheet that said no sound should be fixed. Also Last Blade 2 and graphics issues in Pleasuregoal, Samurai Shodown 3 and World Heroes 2 are fixed.
Super Sidekicks 3 also says Raster desync but I couldn't reproduce the issue.
