Hi, I've been trying to understand aspect ratios and frequencies and resolutions and video modes but I'm kinda failing to do so.
I want to understand it because I have my MiSTer connected to a VGA CRT computer monitor.
I have the forced_scandoubler activated and most cores fill the screen nicely. If I use the Commodore 64 core, I have an image that doesn't fill the entire screen, same thing with the AO486 core or the Game Boy cores.
I've seen people asking about this and they usually have responses like: use video_mode=856,40,80,120,642,3,4,19,43750 and integer this and integer that and the vscale and the vsync. Is there a newby/dummy guide for this? I would like to really understand it instead of just copying pasting a string of numbers because someone told me to.
I know there exists the MiSTer wiki but I dont really find a good explanation of things, just a general description of the ini settings.
