800 core .. maybe core issue?

Unread post by Bikerbob »

Trying to play Galactic Empire 1.0 from Adventure International. One of my all time favs.

Basic game. Everything seems to work, but the cursor keys do not (IN GAME) if I drop to a basic cursor prompt.. they work. In game.. no.

Ideas?

So....you may not like this, but here is the keys (in parentheses) you need to press.

UP = - ( [ )
DOWN = = ( ] )
LEFT = + ( ' )
RIGHT = * ( \ )

Never programmed on an Atari so I can only theorize that instead of looking for the actual cursor movements, it's looking for the unmodified key-press.
This is not a "Mister" core issue as the behavior exists in emulators too.
Hope this helps.

The original manual of the core and the following picture might help, also.

Thank you both for your responses. I did not get that idea that the "KEYS" would have to map to the Atari keyboard, not the atari maping to the PC keyboard.

I have not tried it yet. But I will again soon. Thanks also for the original manual, all I was able to find was the readme in the core page.

Thanks

James
