Using the numlock for its intended purpose

Unread post by colonel panic »

I started a playthrough of Snatcher on the MSX recently, and certain parts of the game require using the number keys on the numpad (not row of numbers above the letter keys). The problem is the numlock key seems to be hard coded to changing the keyboard mode for joystick emulation and stuff. Is there any way around this? I'd also be happy with remapping those keys to the d-pad on a USB joypad or something if that's what it takes. Any ideas?

Edit: for anyone searching this in the future, I found a workaround for MSX Snatcher. You can also use the 7-8-9, U-I-O, and J-K-L keys on the main keyboard instead of the numpad for shooting. This works for this specific game, but may not work for others that rely on the numpad, so I'm not marking this one as solved just yet
