@Sorgelig as you created the Sam Coupe Core for MiST and MiSTer:
I've been lucky to obtain one of these computers, and the Floppy Drive Controller is the VL1772-02 or WD1772-02.
Some websites incorrectly state the 1770-02 (this has slower step rates).
The Core on MiSTer and MiST currently uses the WD1793.
For (maybe just historical) accuracy could the 1772 be added instead?
This IC is used in the Archimedes and Atari ST, so should already be available:
